NOTE FROM BERNIE With the recent promotions Bernie wanted to emphasize Icho-Ryu isn't a system or art of copying one's teacher and merely repeating the techniques taught. The purpose of Icho-Ryu is to teach strong basics in the art in order for the practitioners to be able to grow and develop their own skills and in their own direction. This can be clearly seen with the three individuals just promoted: Neil, Andrew, and Wayne. Each have dedicated years of training in Icho-Ryu Aikijujutsu, as well as other arts, and developed their own arts and style. Using the basics as a step toward their own creativity and expression and the art. BERNIE TO CHILE FOR THREE MONTHS
